Yes. a violation of repeated use. I recently read that women who are prone to hypo-thyroid CTS. Get blood test and get an evaluation of ergonomics in the workplace.
Unfortunately, surgery is not foolproof. This is a temporary solution for carpal tunnel syndrome. I've known people that have a relapse.
